Does Dr. Silvertooth provide primary care?

No, Dr. Silvertooth will provide consultation regarding medical conditions but does not provide primary care. Individuals are encouraged to maintain a professional relationship with a general practitioner for routine primary care, including immunizations and urgent care needs.

Does Dr. Silvertooth accept medical insurance?

Dr. Silvertooth is not on any medical insurance plans but can provide an itemized receipt at the time of office visits, which individuals may submit to their insurance plans for out of network reimbursement (*see Medicare exception below). It is recommended that patients contact their insurance provider prior to their first appointment to determine how much they will be reimbursed for out-of-network provider appointments. PAYMENT IS DUE AT THE TIME OF SERVICE.

*Dr. Silvertooth is OPTED-OUT of MEDICARE and individuals with Medicare or who are Medicare-eligible (65 years old and older) are required to sign a private contract of service with Dr. Silvertooth. This contract indicates acknowledgement that the individual will not and cannot receive any reimbursement from Medicare for payment provided to Dr. Silvertooth by the individual. (refer to Medicare Contract Form under New Patient Forms)

Does Dr. Silvertooth provide after-hours services?

No. Dr. Silvertooth is a solo practitioner and consultant and is only able to provide services during office hours. Urgent messages may be left with the answering service and will be returned the next business day, however true emergencies should be directed to 911 or the emergency room.

Does Dr. Silvertooth see individuals with substance abuse problems?

Dr. Silvertooth does not specialize in the treatment of individuals with substance use or abuse problems. These issues would need to be addressed and/or in ongoing treatment prior to establishing care in her practice.

What age groups does Dr. Silvertooth see?

Dr. Silvertooth works with adult individuals, ages 18 and older. For those of Medicare age (65 and older), referral is required from another physician.

Does Dr. Silvertooth treat individuals with chronic pain?

Yes, chronic pain is a common condition for which integrative medicine can be very helpful. However, Dr. Silvertooth does NOT prescribe narcotic or controlled prescription pain medications.
