Dr. Silvertooth provides consultation in the integrative management of medical and psychiatric conditions. She is not a primary care provider or general practitioner and does not provide primary care. Dr. Silvertooth has expert training in both psychiatry and adult chronic medical conditions. This training includes sub-specialization in evaluating individuals with multiple medical and psychiatric conditions, particularly those that are frequently noted to overlap.

Dr. Silvertooth will often provide the role of central hub for individuals who have multiple specialists, such as gynecologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, pain management specialists. This role includes oversight and collaboration of the various specialists so as to provide consistent and safe medical care for complicated or multiple medical and psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Silvertooth is also a specialist in psychopharmacology and medication management of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. These skills combine to address the whole person with the goal to achieve wellness, improved resiliency, and self-efficacy towards the long term management of mental health. Every visit encompasses some form of psychotherapy, however Dr. Silvertooth encourages ongoing care with therapists for individuals who need more intense psychotherapy.

As a former collegiate level athlete, Dr. Silvertooth has a particular interest in the field of sports medicine. She has provided expert consultation to the University of Texas athletics as well as the National Basketball Association. She provides treatment and management of chronic psychiatric conditions of elite athletes, such as bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury/post-concussion mood management.

This treatment incorporates her integrative medicine background and includes coordination with coaching staff and therapists when appropriate.
